Celebrate on Monday, April 22 with a special five-course candle-lit dinner showcasing local ingredients. Courses will include a vegetable garden salad, ravioli, striped bass, pork loin and strawberry terrine. Ten percent of the proceeds will be donated to The Plant, an indoor vertical farm that promotes closed-loop food production and sustainable economic development through education and research. The cost is $65 per person or $80 with wine pairings.

Magnolia Bakery will donate 100% of proceeds of every Earth Day cupcake sold to the Alliance for the Great Lakes. NRDC Craft Beer Tasting
Join NRDC’s Earth Day celebration on April 22 to benefit the “Brewers for Clean Water” campaign. Six Illinois-based breweries will be on hand for the beer tasting fundraiser as well as Wild Ophelia chocolate from Vosges and music by the band Gemini Club. Tickets to the event are available online.

Lakeview’s sustainable sandwich-focused restaurant will host a whole day of Earth Day events including educational discussions with farmers and chefs as well as activities for children. Food and beverage samples, live music and face paintings will take place from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
