1. Fat Rice
Fat Rice will turn into Kill Grill, a haunted izakaya dinner and spooky tribute to Quintin Tarantino’s kung fu flick Kill Bill. Slash through five courses and pairings for $80 from Chef Abe Conlon. There are two available seatings offered at 6 p.m. and 9 p.m.
2. The Violet Hour
The famed cocktail bar presents “Blind Tiger: A Circus of Horrors, A Carnival of Curiosities,” a Halloween festival celebrating freaks of nature. Enjoy treats from a spooky cocktail menu as well as tricks from magicians. Tickets to the private party are $100 per person and the event takes place from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m.
Fall down the rabbit hole as the River North cocktail bar will transform each floor into scenes from Alice in Wonderland with specialty cocktails and music by DJ’s Gordon Bramli and M. Sylvia. Doors open at 8 p.m.
4. Chicago Athletic Association
On Halloween, the CAA will turn back the clock to the late 18th century at “Murder, Magic, & Mystery.” Sponsored in part by Revolution Brewing, the event will begin at 8 p.m. with an evening of tarot card readings, spooky storytelling, slideshow acts, musical performances and more. The night will culminate with a concert by The Soft Moon, presented by The Empty Bottle.
5. Punch House
RVSP for a hosted Lagunitas bar from 8-9 p.m. with DJ performances by Sol Son, Darryn Jones and special guests. The evening’s top costume at midnight will win two VIP tickets to a Thalia Hall show of choice plus a $100 gift card to Dusek’s/Punch House.
6. Ampersand Wine Bar
Join Ampersand for a Hallowine celebration with a Mad Men theme. Enjoy open pours of wine and beer, bar snacks and a costume contest from 8 to 11 p.m. Tickets are $45.
Kinmont’s pop-up space Ampersand will host the Devil in the White City, an event featuring a unique recreation of Chicago’s 1893 World’s Fair and renowned serial killer H.H. Holmes. Dress in old timey garb and enjoy acid vat punch cocktails and fair food such as funnel cakes, corndogs, caramel corn and more. Tickets are $40 per person.
Enjoy a night of pleasure and pain at Henry’s. Beginning at 10 p.m., guests can relax with massage chairs, Rocky Horror-themed burlesque dancers and DJ Nikki Camcam. Menu highlights include the Love Potion Cocktail and pumpkin-spiced burger sliders. Downstairs, the Rec Room will transform into a spooky spectacle featuring the sounds of DJ Lady D, a special guest dominatrix for the evening and items like Jell-O shot syringes, bloody burger sliders and tongue tacos. The Godfrey will transform into a haunted hotel for Halloween. The entire 5th floor will feature spooks and scares like real-looking autopsy rooms and ghosts and ghouls roaming the space. There will also be an after party from 2-5 a.m. and guests will be able to rent one of the rooms for their own private party or overnight stay. Tickets for the event range from $49 to $100 per person.
10. CH Distillery & Cocktail Bar
Sip on whimsical, candy-inspired cocktails such as Everlasting Gobstopper (Sour Blueberry Infused CH Key Gin, Lime Juice, Sour Lifesaver Gummies) and Brandy is Dandy (CH Cherry Eau De Vie, CH Key Gin, Nerds) at a “Willy Wonka & The CH Vodka Factory” themed Halloween party. The event is open to the public with no cover and there will also be a Golden Ticket raffle for a privately guided distillery tour.
The popular West Loop spot will host a Halloween blow-out on Friday, Oct. 30 from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Special guest Coolio will perform alongside other live DJ sets, costumed entertainment, a photo booth, palm and tarot card readers and spooky cocktails.
