In case Chicagoans haven’t heard, liquor stores have been deemed essential, and the state hasn’t closed them as part of Gov. J.B. Pritzker’s executive order. But for those apprehensive with leaving their homes, the state liquor laws have loosened to allow more home delivery options. Restaurants are getting in on the action with cocktail kits, beer, and wine deliveries. Growler and crowler deliveries are even allowed. Pre-mixed cocktails are not legally available in Chicago for delivery or pickup even though some bars are offering them. The restrictions have been points of contention for many bar owners. There’s even a petition circulating that’s pushing for cocktail delivery, to match rules in some of Chicago’s suburbs. LA recently lifted laws to allow mixed drinks poured in containers with secure lids.

Note: customers can opt to call many of these restaurants instead of using a third-party delivery service. That could save restaurants as much as a 30-percent of the cost of the order.
NOTE: Big Star, part of One Off Hospitality Group, ceased taking orders on March 28.
