Owner of Pilsen stalwart arrested for allegedly battering an employee
The owner of Canton Regio — the Pilsen Mexican stalwart from the family behind former neighborhood pillar Nuevo Leon — has been arrested and charged with allegedly battering an employee, NBC5 and Telemundo report. The station also reports that Daniel Gutierrez admits to hitting the 52-year-old man but claims he was provoked. This isn’t the first time Gutierrez has been accused attacked someone: A police report was filed against him in August 2018 after a series of photos appeared on social media showing facial injuries to another former employee allegedly caused by Gutierrez. Ald. Byron Sigcho-Lopez (25th) is now reportedly investigating more abuse claims against Gutierrez.

Menus and more information are available on its website.
