The Chicago Riverwalk will have seven new food vendors this summer
A slew of new food vendors will set up shop on the Chicago Riverwalk starting in June. Popular restaurants Batter & Berries, Beat Kitchen, and Chiya Chai are among them, as well as sweets makers Justice of the Pies and Luxury Cakes, catering company Twisted Eggroll, and Gordo’s Homemade Ice Cream will open a mobile cart, the Tribune reports. Most of the new spots will be under six-month contracts and live on an under-construction extension between Wabash and Michigan avenues, while Beat Kitchen will have a larger space and a three-year lease.
Stephanie Izard’s Peruvian rooftop hotspot now serves brunch
Cabra, Stephanie Izard’s uber-popular new rooftop Peruvian restaurant in Fulton Market, started brunch service this past weekend, giving diners expanded hours to try to snag a table. The full menu hasn’t been made available but the restaurant teased a few dishes on Instagram, including bass-potato cake under two sunny eggs with panca and yuzu-cilantro sauces.
Beachfront destination Shore Club reopens this weekend with a renovated patio
Summery weather must be on the way soon because three-in-one lakefront hotspot Shore Club will reopen at North Avenue Beach this Saturday, May 18. Management renovated its large patio and will launch new happy hour deals this year.
