An essential suburban French restaurant will reconcept into two spots
After closing yesterday for reconcepting, essential suburban French spot Restaurant Michael will become two restaurants: Aboyer and Silencieux. The former will be more of a brasserie while the latter will be a “mid-level fine dining experience,” according to a news release and the Tribune. George Trois, the fine dining restaurant-within-a-restaurant, is on hiatus but will be back in the space too. Expect it all to open the first week of May.
Wrigleyville has a massive St. Patrick’s Day pop-up bar all month long
Chicagoans who are really into St. Patrick’s Day can check out an over-the-top new pop-up bar all month long in Wrigleyville. Charm’d, which is at Deuce’s and the Diamonds Club that also housed one of the many Christmas pop-up bars that infiltrated Chicago this recent holiday season, is multiple floors and spaces full of green, themed cocktails, and much more. Time Out Chicago had a first look around.
West Town chef sentenced for trying to buy endangered fish
The chef of West Town restaurant Tai Nang was sentenced with probation after pleading guilty for trying to buy 24 dragon fish, which violated the federal Endangered Species Act, the Sun-Times reports. Sittipat “Ong” Satangmongkol could have received up to a year in jail after he was charged last summer.
