Reservations are open for Michelin-starred and Eater 38 restaurant Entente’s March 25 debut at its new River North location at 700 N. Sedgwick Street, owner Ty Fujimura wrote in a social media post. Ownership announced the move in January.
The Lakeview restaurant, which opened in 2016 at 3056 N. Lincoln Avenue, shuttered for relocation on March 2. It was doing well, executive chef Brian Fisher said when he announced the move, but he felt obligated to seize an opportunity to grow and design a new restaurant space for the first time.
The built-out River North space houses a kitchen five times the size of the original restaurant, a badly needed expansion from the retrofit kitchen and troubled HVAC system in Lakeview. The modern American menu, available online, highlights luscious proteins including Hudson Valley foie gras, Berkshire pork, and Slagel Farms short ribs. Pan-Asian touches are woven in as well: Bulgogi with sushi rice, Thai iced tea with lemongrass, and a dessert made with red kuri, a Japanese squash, are on the menu.
Ex-Band of Bohemia chef Ian Davis was hired and subsequently departed from the new Entente following multiple accusations of misconduct that spread on Instagram. Davis denied wrongdoing when allegations surfaced in February.
Hungry denizens can try the extensive beverage menu and evolving food offerings at Entente when it opens March 25. Stay tuned for more coverage.
