The Chicago Riverwalk continues to shape up with new bar and restaurant openings this summer, as a new two-level spot, Chicago Brewhouse, is now open at Wabash Avenue and Wacker Drive. The riverside eatery and drinkery is dedicated to all things Chicago, including beers brewed in the city, plus local coffees and teas. The Brewhouse is from Vaughan Hospitality, the owners of Emerald Loop in the Loop, Vaughan’s Pub in Lakeview, and Corcoran’s Pub & Grill in Old Town.

The menu is charmingly a map of the city with food representing various Chicago neighborhoods. Uptown’s represented by a Vietnamese banh mi. Devon and Rogers Park gets chicken tikka masala. A foot-long hot dog and Polish sausage reps Maxwell Street and Chatham features rib tips with Lem’s barbecue sauce. Breakfast sandwiches are also planned but Brewhouse isn’t yet open in the morning. Ownership is waiting on city approvals for breakfast service.

The beer’s from local brewers including Goose Island, Moody Tongue, and Half Acre. There’s also cocktails like a Chicago Bloody Mary. For those who aren’t boozing, staff will pour Limitless coffees and cold brew from Passion House Coffee Roasters. The iced tea is from Spirit Tea. If coffee sales go well, Brewhouse management said they’ll invest in espresso and expand offerings.

Vaughan’s has converted space once used by tour companies, working out an agreement with the city as Mayor Rahm Emanuel’s administration continues to develop the riverwalk space into a tourism hotbed. Take a look at the menus below.

Chicago Brewhouse, 318 N. Wabash Avenue, open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., breakfast service will eventually be added.
