— The 2018 food lineup for Lollapalooza’s Chow Town is out, and 36 restaurants will set up shop at the massive annual music festival in Grant Park this year. New additions include Beat Kitchen, Gideon Sweet, Revival Food Hall, and a Connie’s Pizza to-go tent where customers can order ahead of time using the Lollapalooza mobile app. Check out the full lineup here.
— The owner of Replay Lincoln Park walked back his bar’s ban on “Make America Great Again” hats but it hasn’t stopped pro-Trump trolls from bombarding his establishment. Mark Kwiatkowski told the Tribune that his arcade bar doesn’t actually have an official dress code and that he hoped to spark a conversation about the current political and social issues in America. But fallout for Replay continues nonetheless, as the bar’s Facebook page has since been taken down and a fake Replay Lincoln Park page is now up.
— That fancy new one-of-a-kind McDonald’s on Randolph Row has released a new menu of international food items: a blue cheese and bacon burger from France, “Wasabi Shake Shake Fries” from Hong Kong, the spicy Buffalo chicken sandwich from Australia, the “I’m Greeking Out” salad from Canada, the sausage McMuffin “TS” from Germany (“TS” stands for tomato salad), and the Baci McFlurry from Italy.
— The Shelby, the replacement for Humboldt Park’s Haywood Tavern, has shuttered at 2759 W. Augusta Boulevard, Block Club Chicago reports. It only opened seven months ago, around two weeks after Haywood closed.
— And finally, sad news out of Evanston as Sarkis Tashjian, who opened local icon Sarkis Cafe way back in 1965, passed away on Sunday. He was 86.
