Tour Wrigleyville’s New Boozy Bakery With Dessert-Inspired Cocktails

West Town Bakery & Tap has opened at the Hotel Zachary

A smattering desserts at the new West Town Bakery & Tap.

The Hotel Zachary — the boutique hotel which just opened across the street from Wrigley Field — has unleashed a reliable name for its guests’ cake, coffee and cocktail needs as West Town Bakery and Tap has opened. This bakery and bar pours Dark Matter Coffee and supplies cupcakes, cake pops, and other desserts that customers should know from the bakery’s first location in West Town. The bakery’s owners, Fifty/50 Restaurant Group (Roots Pizza, Steadfast), will also serve over-the-top dessert-inspired cocktails like a Bloody Mary topped with a chocolate-dipped chicharron.

Fifty/50’s acclaimed cocktailer Benjamin Schiller, who created drinks for Fifty/50 bars The Sixth, The Berkshire Room, and Apogee, is on the case in Wrigleyville with a drink list of about 10 signature beverages. The vibe is casual with Dark Matter’s delicious Chocolate City cold brew available on tap. Savory brunch items will eventually complement the grab and go atmosphere.

FcSTUDIO, the firm that also designed Mordecai at the hotel, handled the bakery’s look while Wink Design took care of the branding and logos. Take a cake walk through the 1,100-square-foot space below. West Town Bakery and Tap is open.
