Andersonville’s Getting a Colectivo Coffee Cafe Later This Year

There’s also an update on the Evanston location

After opening cafes in Lincoln Park and Logan Square, Milwaukee-based Colectivo Coffee is coming to Andersonville with plans to unleash the company’s third coffeeshop in Chicago. Colectivo’s latest is slated for a late summer or early fall opening, according to a spokesperson. The space is at Clark Street and Rascher Avenue at 5425 N. Clark Street.

The space’s footprint appears smaller than the company’s previous openings in Chicago. The Lincoln Park space features a lively patio area, while the Logan Square shop has space for live music. But that won’t stop Colectivo from designing a unique shop in Andersonville — their designers did well to transform a former Einstein Bros. Bagels parking lot in Lincoln Park to the aforementioned patio. They’re adding new lighting, revamping the layout, and will add sidewalk seating. It doesn’t look like they’ll serve beer in Andersonville, something they do in Lincoln Park. Instead, they’ll focus on coffee, tea, and the company’s own baked goods including pastries and prepackaged sandwiches.

Colectivo continues its Chicago-area expansion which started in spring 2017. There are also plans for an Evanston cafe at 716 Church Street. Colectivo’s first suburban Chicago location should open in the fall, according to a spokesperson. The company runs 18 locations including 13 in Milwaukee and three in Madison, Wisconsin.
