Clark Street that will hold 50-55 people.
— Billy Goat Tavern’s legendary subterranean flagship reopened on Friday at 430 N. Michigan Avenue. The immortal “cheezborger” and beer spot closed on January 2 “to perform necessary updates of the infrastructure, such as improving electrical, plumbing, and the restrooms” but kept the look and feel intact. — The W Chicago—City Center hotel in The Loop is in the midst of a large renovation and has already revamped its restaurant, bar and lobby on the ground floor. Its IPO Restaurant (opened in 2010) is gone and its new restaurant, Midland Social Club, opened on Saturday. The new area is full of nods to Chicago history, the Tribune reports, as chef Mark Powierski’s dinner menu includes “West Town Pierogies,” “Taquitos de Pilsen,” and many more Chicago neighborhood-themed dishes.
— Five months after one of its co-founders passed away, longtime Lincoln Square favorite Cafe Selmarie announced that it will also temporarily close for renovations. The neighborhood favorite, which has been in business for 35 years, will close from April 1 through April 9 to implement new cabinetry and countertops, lighting, floors, and color scheme, a news release states. The restaurant had expanded in 1999 and co-founder Jean Marie Uzdawanis died last October.
— And finally, all M Burger locations will again give away free burgers with any purchase on Wednesday to celebrate the Lettuce Entertain You fast-casual chain’s eighth birthday. One lucky winner in this contest will also get free burgers for a year.
