— Chicagoans will have a unique way to spend New Year’s Eve this year — by partying with Hot Doug himself and an unlimited selection of his sausages. Doug Sohn will helm a pop-up on December 31 at the Library Bar inside the Ambassador Chicago hotel in the Gold Coast, where patrons can eat as many of his foie gras and sauternes duck sausages, alligator sausages with crayfish remoulade and Jarlsberg cheese, duck fat fries, and more Hot Doug’s favorites as their hearts desire. A cash bar and a DJ playing Sohn’s playlist round out the
$100-per-person experience (the price has been dropped to $75 per person, according to a spokesperson), tickets for which are available here.
— Italian sausage and charcuterie standout Tempesta Market has more news, as it opened a breakfast pop-up at Loop food hall Wells Street Market this morning. It’ll run until December 14. Tempesta has recently launched brunch and dinner service at its main location on Grand Avenue in West Town and also has another food hall location at Revival.
— Popular Pilsen juice bar and vegan eatery Belli’s reopened in a new location on Friday. The new space at 1307 W. 18th Street offers kombucha on tap, an array of avocado toasts on Publican Quality Bread, veggie burgers, and more in addition to juices, smoothies, coffee and bowls.
— A Red Robin in suburban Orland Park was evacuated on Friday night after more than 20 people contracted carbon monoxide poisoning, according to ABC7/the Sun-Times. It was shut down and cleared to reopen on Saturday night.
