It’s from the owners of suburban BeerShop

The owners of a suburban craft beer lounge are working towards opening a similar spot in Logan Square. DrinkShop will be part bar, part coffee shop, and part bottle shop. It’s from the owners of BeerShop, a lounge that opened in 2015 in Oak Park.

DrinkShop will be located near the corner of Armitage, Western, and Milwaukee at 2513 W. Armitage Avenue. It’s new construction and the owners applied for a liquor license. They also put up Facebook and Instagram pages. The new shop will also emphasize cocktails.

Hybrids like DrinkShop have become increasingly trendy in Chicago. An all-day cafe, bottle shop and bar, Brothers and Sisters, is slated to open next month in Wicker Park. Beermiscous, which describes itself as a “coffeeshop for beer,” has been around for four years in Lakeview. Its owners just opened a second location in suburban Highwood.

A message left for manager Danielle Kovack wasn’t immediately returned. Stay tuned for more info.

UPDATE: Owner Tony Compaglia emailed in on Wednesday morning and while he’s not ready to share details, he wanted to make a clarification: “We aren’t really a coffee bar/shop,” he wrote. “We do serve coffee from our neighbor Caffe Umbria. Instead, our focus is craft beer, wine, and spirits.”
