The third iteration of Hutch, a restaurant serving brunch every day and dinner items like brisket macaroni and cheese at night, debuted Tuesday night on the first floor of the former Cantina 1910 space at 1477 W. Winnemac Avenue. Hutch American Kitchen & Bar hopes to endear itself to a neighborhood with classic American cuisine and a bar that pours coffee by day and cocktails at night. Hutch also has locations in Lakeview and River North.

Hutch is the beneficiary of the beautifully designed space left behind by Cantina 1910, the ambitious Mexican restaurant that lasted a year, closing in August 2016. The space was designed for Cantina, a project that rehabbed a corner parcel that began back in 2014. Hutch will occupy a portion of the multilevel building.

Fans of Hutch’s other locations know what to expect in Andersonville — a reliable menu that has a little something for everyone. There’s also a selection of classic cocktails. No, there are no margaritas — something a few customers knocked Cantina 1910 for lacking. But there are a few zero-proof mocktails for those rambling on social media about their New Year’s resolutions to have a dry January.

Check out the photos of the space and food, and the menu below. Hutch is now open for dinner in Andersonville and daily brunch kicks off on Saturday.
