— Stephanie Izard fans and home cooks should mark April 3 on their calendars. That’s when the goat queen will release a new cookbook, named “Gather & Graze,” which is filled with recipes including banh mi burgers and duck breast with brown butter kimchi. It’s available for preorder now on Amazon and via Seminary Co-Op Bookstore, the Tribune first reported.
— A popular Boystown restaurant is changing ownership on February 1, which could also mean more arcade bars are coming. Lark, the reconcepted Halsted’s Bar + Grill, was sold to the owners of nearby Kit Kat Lounge, a news release states. Ownership “has decided to focus our efforts on the Replay, Hydrate and Elixir brands, including expanding our offerings at our Andersonville and Lakeview locations, while also exploring opportunities to expand Replay into other neighborhoods of the city.”
— Fat Rice is getting comical for Valentine’s Day and Chinese New Year, where the Macanese powerhouse will release house-made fortune cookies filled with fortunes written by the people behind the Cards Against Humanity card game. The Tribune has more.
— Booth One, Lettuce Entertain You’s revamp of the Pump Room space, is now open for lunch every weekday. Check out the menu here.
— Shots were fired towards popular Wicker Park restaurant/bar/event venue Chop Shop last night. Ownership says that police on the scene told them the shooting was “random.” No one was injured and it closed early, but reopened for regular hours this morning.
— And finally, after changing ownership late last year, historic River North steakhouse Chicago Chop House has released a new menu too. New dishes include a 24-ounce dry-aged tomahawk ribeye ($89) and an American “Mishima Reserve” Wagyu (cuts start at $65). The full menu is below.
