How does Humboldt Park feel about caviar? The neighborhood gets to find out on Aug. 11 when Heritage Restaurant & Caviar Bar opens inside the former Bar Marta space, 2700 W. Chicago Ave. The owners have hyped the spot as Chicago’s only caviar bar, but assure potential customers that they’re willing to cater to all tastes and budgets while tapping into Eastern European roots for their menu’s inspiration.

The staff, with the aid of Portland, Maine-based Maine Street Design, has created a brighter space compared to its predecessor. Heritage has a basement, and downstairs is supposed to be more fine dining with 36 seats and a six-seat bar. The main floor dining room is more casual and features 46 seats with room for 12 at the bar. There’s also a 40-seat patio.

The space is decorated with vintage lights, and the oyster/caviar bar is a focal point. The caviar bar featured 1930s glass sturgeon accents in keeping with the theme. But it’s not all about the fish eggs. Heritage will also have fresh dumplings and noodles. And the taps will flow with house-infused vodkas.

Take a tour through the restaurant below. Heritage should open on Friday, Aug. 11.
