Will the third pizzeria be the charm for this Streeterville restaurant space? Urban Crosta Pizza, a new spot from a pair of Chicago restaurant veterans, should open on Aug. 28 at 355 W. Ohio St. That’s the former address of Flour & Stone, which closed in 2015 after about three years, and Robert’s Pizza Co, which shuttered earlier this year amid legal acrimony.
Despite the history, Hats Off Hospitality co-founders Felipe Ospina and Pepe Guzman have high hopes for the 60-seat space, which they remodeled in order to give the lofty, high-ceiling space a warmer feeling. The stone-hearth pizza, however, remains.
“We don’t have a range or fryer,” Ospina said. “So anything hot is going to be coming out of that stone oven.”

The pizza crust will be somewhere between Chicago- and New York-style, with an inch outer crust. Crosta will feature 11 specialty pies ranging from “The Good Ol’ Margarita” to a steak & chimichurri-topped pie. The menu will be rounded out with salads and sharable plates like burrata and beef carpaccio.
Though this will be the first owned-and-operated restaurant for Ospina, the Colombian-born restaurateur has plenty of experience. He helped launch Mercadito, Roka Akor, and Imperial Lamian in Chicago.
After Urban Crosta opens, they plan to add lunch, brunch, and delivery. Check out the menu below. They’ll take another shot in Streeterville on Aug. 28.
