Inside the Ritz-Carlton Chicago’s Swanky New Italian Restaurant Downtown

Torali Italian — Steak opens July 31

What does a $100 million renovation produce restaurant-wise at the Ritz-Carlton Chicago? Find out on Monday, July 31 when Torali Italian — Steak opens on the 12th floor of the downtown Chicago hotel inside Water Tower Place. Bristling with Italian pride, there’s plenty of marble and the bar’s well-stocked with amaro.

Torali replaces Deca Restaurant, and the improvements are part of a hotel-wide renovation announced two years ago. They already added a new rooftop lounge, Rooftop at Torali, last year. That spot features sharable plates.

Meanwhile, management modernized the main dining room while embracing a 1930s-1940s Italian aesthetic. The Ritz has moved the bar from the corner so it’s more of a focus. There’s a new grab-and-go spot, too.

Chef Greg Elliott (Remington’s, W Chicago Lakeshore) developed the restaurant’s menu. The chef’s menu includes fresh pasta and dry-aged beef.

Check out the photos below. Torali Italian — Steak has been serving friends and family for the last week, but will open to the public on Monday, July 31 at the Ritz, 160 E. Pearson Place inside Water Tower Place.
