Little Toasted, Now Open, Offers Riverside Views With Gourmet Toast, Coffee, and Whisky

Slightly Toasted’s owners open their second establishment

Slightly Toasted charmed the West Loop with its mild-mannered coffee bar by day and swanky whisky bar at night in routine when it opened in January. Now they’re hoping residents at 300 S. Riverside Plaza warm to their concept by opening a second restaurant/bar, Little Toasted. Despite the name, this location is larger than the original with a bigger kitchen that will allow chef Omar Garcia and his sister, pastry chef Brenda Garcia, to fully unleash their talents.

During the day, Little Toasted features gourmet toasts, burgers, and more. Evenings transform to fine dining, and reservations will eventually be available via Reserve. They’re also offering a coffee subscription, through the restaurant’s website.

The space spans 3,000 square feet, and it’s the same minimalist aesthetic used at Slightly Toasted. Customers will find a mix of communal and comfy seating. Though not pictured, there will be a patio overlooking the river with seating for 250.

The father-and-son team of Tyler and Art Mendoza could further expand. After “slightly” and “little,” what’s next? Speculate in the comments and check out the photos below.

Little Toasted, 300 S. Riverside Plaza, open 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Monday through Friday.
