Chicago may get another food hall but the owners of this project aren’t a major restaurant group. The parent company of Time Out plans to open a two-story, 30,000-square-foot fall in Fulton Market, according to the Tribune. Time Out hasn’t confirmed the project, but the Trib’s sources said that Time Out Market would be located at Fulton Market and Sangamon Street.

Time Out already has a food hall in Lisbon. The European market features 24 restaurants, eight bars, and a concert venue. It opened in 2014. It’s double the size of the proposed market in Chicago.

Upscale food halls are the rage in Chicago. Revival Food Hall made waves when it opened last year in The Loop. The team behind Furious Spoon and FireFin Poke Shop have plans for a Lakeview food hall. Another food hall, Wells St. Market, is also in the works.

The West Loop already has one food hall, Chicago’s French Market inside Ogilvie Transportation Center. Time Out Market would have serious competition from Randolph Restaurant Row. Stay tuned to hear if there’s an official announcement.
