GOLD COAST— McFadden’s Restaurant and Saloon has closed. The phone number has been disconnected and there’s a sign posted to the door that its shuttered. Though it sports an Irish name, the bar was more of a frat boy dance club with long lines to get in on the weekend. The owner may be bringing a new concept to the space at 1206 N. State Pkwy, according to a tipster, but ownership hasn’t confirmed that. UPDATE: Apparently McFadden’s has cut back its hours, opening on Thursday through Saturday.

LAKEVIEW— Beef Shack, the city expansion of the suburban Italian beef mini-chain, appears shuttered. The space at 1056 W. Belmont Ave. looks like it hasn’t been habited recently, the Yelp page also reports it’s closed and its online ordering page is also down. The covered entrance is littered with empty alcohol bottles and there’s a flattened cardboard box outside on the floor and it looks like someone has used that to sleep there. Beef Shack still has two suburban locations, in Hoffman Estates and St. Charles. Their online ordering pages are still working.

WICKER PARK— Harvest Moon has risen for the last time in Wicker Park. A crew was there on Thursday afternoon cleaning the space out. The restaurant took over the Bob San space in August at 1805 W. Division St. and its “Sunrise Sandwich” had earned a Yelp award for best sandwich. An email to the owner wasn’t returned.
