Hall of Famer Lou Gehrig was known as the “Iron Horse” when he played for the Yankees. The Cubs, with Stephanie Izard, now have an Iron Chef. Izard’s new Wrigley Field menu debuts today, and the Cubs will be offering her food through June 11. Izard is part of a team of celebrity chefs—Rick Bayless, Graham Elliot, Jeff Mauro, and Matthias Merges—who will cook special baseball game items.
The food’s available down the right-field line at a remodeled stadium concourse. Izard, whose Girl & the Goat staff famously roasted a goat after the Cubs broke their World Series drought, is offering fans goat in the form of tacos braised with Maker’s Mark bourbon chili mole sauce.
Merges is chef on deck and the man behind Yusho, Billy Sunday, A10, and Old Irving Brewing Co. He will begin his time at Wrigley on June 19.
