Wicker Park Now Has a Rooftop Bar With a Pool

Chicago isn’t the first place that pops into people’s minds when looking for an outdoor bar with a wading pool. These spaces are common in Europe, Latin America and in warmer U.S. cities like Miami. But The Robey hotel now brings some of those warm vibes to Wicker Park. Over the weekend, the hotel opened Cabana Club up on its sixth-floor rooftop at the corner of North/Damen/Milwaukee avenues, where guests get beautiful 180-degree city views with a drink in hand in addition to the pool.

Before perspective visitors pack their swim trunks, know that the pool’s exclusively for hotel guests. That said, there’s plenty to enjoy inside, even on snowy days. That’s when bar staff will fire-up a wood-burning fireplace. The DJs will keep the party going even in the winter.

But forget about the frost for now. The Latin American small plates menu features an assortment of tostadas. One variety is octopus with celery root puree, chili and lime. Another comes with tuna, fried shallots, avocado, and mayo. Oh, and Jeni’s Ice Creams are also available. Drinkers have a series of classic warm-weather concoctions including palomas, caiprinhas, and micheladas. There are also mezcal margaritas and the presumed crowd pleaser: The frozen margarita.

The Robey already has another rooftop bar that opened when the hotel debuted. But Chicago can never have too many rooftop bars. Check out the menu and photos below.
