When FireFin Poke Shop opens today in Wicker Park, it’ll serve new items that aren’t available at the downtown locations. While the raw fish bowls are still served cold, the new location at 1415 N. Milwaukee Ave. will also serve hot Hawaiian specialties like beef patties smothered with gravy and fried egg. There’s new fried chicken, too.

The new Wicker Park location will also unveil weekend brunch in the coming months. Staying true to chef Rodelio Aglibot’s roots, two brunch items include Spam, a staple in many Hawaiian restaurants. Hawaiian food isn’t abundant in Chicago, but Milwaukee Avenue now has two such restaurants as Mahalo serves up Spam meatballs a couple blocks north.

New raw fish options have slowly invaded Wicker Park in recent months. Those include offerings from Sushi Burrito and bowls at En Hakkore 2.0. Aglibot’s quick-serve restaurant will offer the familiar customizable options. There’s seating for 40.

FireFin is a collaboration between Aglibot (The Food Buddha), Shin Thompson (Furious Spoon ramen), and Anshul Mangal. Mangal is also behind the ramen chain with Thompson and Deadbolt, the recently-opened Logan Square bar that took over the Two Way Lounge.

Check out the menu for FireFin Wicker Park below. The new fish bowl option arrives at 11 a.m. today on Milwaukee Avenue.
