Celebrity chef Richard Sandoval scored a hit last year in River North when his team opened Baptiste & Bottle inside the Conrad Chicago hotel. The hotel’s brass has more with Sandoval, also handing him the reigns to design their rooftop space. Next week they’ll unveil Noyane, a lounge with food and drink and Sandoval’s signature sushi.

The kitchen has geared its offerings toward groups with sushi platters. Though there’s a focus on groups, Noyane will gladly welcome couples and singles.

It’s a cozy space with an expansive downtown view. There’s a fire pit and a light sculpture, the latter located in the space’s northeast corner. Both are designed to pull patrons away from the central bar where they’ll pour sake, sangria, and Japanese beer. Hotel officials said the space was designed to complement Sandoval’s sushi menu.

Check out the photos below. Noyane opens on May 22 on the 21st floor of Conrad Chicago, 101 E. Erie St.
