New LondonHouse Restaurant Will Offer Sidewalk Views of Trump Tower

But diners can always go inside at Land & Lake Kitchen

LondonHouse should soon see a new restaurant open.

Another restaurant—this time on the ground floor—has been confirmed for LondonHouse, the swanky hotel at Wacker Drive and Michigan Avenue that’s best known for its tri-level rooftop. Land & Lake Kitchen should open this summer with an entrance outside of the hotel at 85 E. Wacker Dr. LM Restaurant Group, the company behind Troquet in River North, will operate the “upscale, yet casual” 3,500-square-foot eatery.

There are also plans to use the sidewalk space on Wacker Drive for seating. That’s the space right next to the Corner Bakery. Its views of the Chicago River are obscured, but there’s no mistaking the view of Trump Tower, a dominating sight to the north. Inside should feature medium and dark wood accents with a modern classic interior, according to a news release.

Former Troquet chef Tim Davidson is Land & Lake’s executive chef. He plans a menu of American classics. A news release describes those as familiar dishes with local flavors. LM is still working on the beverage program.

Last month, details leaked that Ocean Prime—a pricey Columbus, Ohio-based steak and seafood chain—will also move into the hotel. Oxford Capital Group, the investment group that owns LondonHouse, has yet to confirm that the deal has been finalized.

Take a look at the renderings provided by LM below.
