The Southport Corridor’s transformation continues as Ella Elli brings a spark of sophistication to Lakeview. Today is opening day, as guests can step into a space decorated with Victorian-style accents and love seats at the bar in lieu of stools. Check out the menu of small plates fusing flavors from Italy, the Mediterranean, and more.

Four Star Restaurant Group takes a lot of pride in the neighborhood: Ella Elli is the company’s third restaurant in the area, following Crosby’s Kitchen and Tucco and Blondie. The new restaurant sports a different feel compared to their other establishments, including The Smoke Daddy and DOC Wine Bar. It’s a cleaner design that is decidedly for adults.

The room appears to be versatile with plenty of seating options. If friends want to lounge around and grab a drink before dinner, that can happen. If patrons swiped right and want to nosh on an appetizer with a date at the marble and walnut bar, that can happen too. Tufted banquettes and upholstered booths look like a fit for girls’ nights out. Eaters can even have a more traditional dinner at a table.

The after-dinner drink selection is highlighted by the pink squirrel, a concoction of Bulleit bourbon, Crème De Noyaux, White Crème de Cacao, and vanilla ice cream. Find out if the Four Star has another hit on its hands when Ella Elli opens tonight.

Ella Elli, 1439 W. Cornelia Ave., (773) 935-3552, open 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. on weekdays; 5 p.m. to midnight on weekends.
