THE LOOP/SCHAUMBURG— ShopHouse Asian Kitchen, Chipotle’s Pan-Asian spinoff, is officially closing across the country. That means The Loop location that opened in 2015 and one in suburban Schaumburg are goners. Speculation first mounted in October after an earnings call that the axe would soon fall.

The last day for all 15 locations will be March 17. ShopHouse took the assembly-line concept and infused Malayasian and Thai flavors. The Asian meatballs were particularly popular. The ShopHouse concept began in Washington, D.C. and also existed in Maryland and Los Angeles.

NORTH CENTER— It’s not new news, but earlier in 2017 Kick, the restaurant specializing in spicy food, shuttered. The restaurant opened in November 2015 in the old Sola space at 3968 N. Lincoln Ave.

ANDERSONVILLE—It hung on for a few more days than expected, but Takos Koreanos is closing on Sunday at 1706 W. Foster Ave. The owner wants to reopen in a higher-trafficked area. It’s a shame for fans of taco fusion.
