This Saturday, December 9, Caffè Umbria will open at 2545 W. Armitage Avenue. The 9,000 square foot space includes a roastery, coffee training lab and a cafe. This is the second location for the Seattle-based roaster, adding to their River North location.

The location includes a coffee training lab for employees and wholesalers, a large roastery that has machinery for both roasted and green coffee. As for the cafe, the menu includes lattes, a lineup of specialty drinks — including seasonal drinks like a granita for the summer and hot chocolate for winter — and coffees available in 12-ounce bags and in bulk. Some highlights include the espresso shakerato, or espresso shaken with ice in a martini glass rimmed with sugar; a bicerin, a double espressow with Italian chocolate, cinnamon, and fresh cream. Pastries will come from Floriole, La Fournette and Alliance Patisserie.
