Look out, Lettuce Entertain You Enterprises is going west this spring. The third outpost of LEYE’s all-day restaurant, Beatrix, is heading to the so-hot-right-now West Loop/Fulton Market District, right across from The Publican at 834 W. Fulton Market. This location will feature the same accoutrements—including a coffee bar—diners see at the Streeterville and River North locations. There’s also an outdoor patio planned.
LEYE’s news release trumpeted new brunch and bakery items. They’ll also be open seven days a week. It’s the first West Loop spot for LEYE, and it’s a sensible expansion target for the company. When it comes to Chicago, Rich Melman’s company has remained reluctant to expand outside of downtown and Lincoln Park. But as the Tribune pointed out, LEYE tends to expand in clusters, so Beatrix is unlikely to be the only West Loop project in the works for the revered restaurant group. At the same time, Wicker Park and Logan Square remain off LEYE’s chessboard...for now.
