LINCOLN PARK— Earlier this month, Smashburger closed its Lincoln Park spot at 2031 N. Clybourn Ave. A company rep said they closed on Jan. 9 and provided this statement: “We consistently review our restaurant portfolio and make strategic decisions to better our position for the future. Unfortunately, from time to time, we must close underperforming stores that don’t meet our rigorous performance standards.” The Colorado import still has a location in suburban Oak Lawn.

RAVENSWOOD— It may be only a temporary move, but Mixteco Grill has shut its doors at 1601 W. Montrose Ave. A Facebook post dated Jan. 12 reads it’s closed until “further notice.” The Mexican restaurant opened in 2008, the Tribune noted.

Mixteco Grill will be CLOSED until FURTHER NOTICE. We apologize for any inconvenience. See you soon!

STREETERVILLE— Following the closure of a Lincoln Park location on Clybourn, Panera has closed its Streeterville location at 635 N. Fairbanks Court.

HIGHLAND PARK— Marcus Lemonis doesn’t just have Bow Truss Coffee Roasters on his mind. The TV personality/entrepreneur has closed his suburban Greek restaurant. Crain’s reported that The Simple Greek has closed at 478 Central Ave. The brand endures with two near Pittsburgh and another in Wichita Falls, Texas.

MOUNT GREENWOOD— After about a year since opening, Creampuffs & Cakes has closed at 2734 W. 111th St. The owner, according to DNAinfo, experienced family difficulties in 2016 that lead to the closure.
