Tourists had a new destination to try over Labor Day weekend as Rosebud Restaurants quietly opened Mama’s Boy inside their former Joe Fish space on Wells Street. However, the restaurant will officially open to the public at 5 p.m. today, hoping that River North can handle another Italian restaurant.
Joe Fish opened in March 2014, and much of the space remains the same. The light woods have been replaced with blacks, and the turquoise has also been vanquished, replaced with more red. The space still seats 120 in the dining room, and there’s a chef’s table for 10. They want the restaurant to feel more like a lounge, and there’s also a semi-private area for 20.
Check out the photos and the menu below.
Mama’s Boy, 445 N. Dearborn St., restaurant open 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. on weekdays; bar/lounge open 4 p.m. to 2 a.m. Lunch and weekend service coming in November.
