Griddle 24, a new diner from the owners of the White Palace and Hollywood grills, is scheduled to open on Oct. 10, according to a restaurant rep. The long-awaited diner was built on top of the Baba Palace parcel on the northeast corner of Chicago and Orleans. Owner George Liakopoulos wants to give River North a spot the will feed families in the morning and the bar crowd later in the night.
It’s an extensive menu with breakfast served all day. Find almost every American breakfast food imaginable in typical diner fashion. But there’s also a "Mexican Morning" section with chilaquiles, huevos ranchero and more.
The offerings aren’t unlike Liakopoulos’ other restaurants. But there’s a signature neighborhood item: The River North. The grilled chicken sandwich comes with honey lime sauce, melted pepper jack and avocado slices. Also, there's shish-kebobs, which livens up almost any menu.
There’s also beer, wine and spiked shakes, for those interested. Take a look at the menu and photos below. Griddle 24 is opening on Monday, Oct. 10 at 334 W. Chicago Ave.
