Chef Andy Aroonrasameruang, the mastermind behind Lakeview’s popular Andy’s Thai Kitchen, will open a second restaurant next month. Aroonrasameruang’s business partner, Travis Sutton, told DNAinfo they plan on opening in Edgewater, at 6230 N. Broadway St. The new restaurant will serve new dishes that aren't on the menu in Lakeview.

They’ll tentatively open on Oct. 1, according to their website, but that's in three days. More realistically, Sutton told DNAinfo that the opening will happen in early October. The new dishes include Thai red snapper, tom yum pad and kha moo palo, DNAinfo reported. Fans of Andy’s are just excited for fall when their seasonal menu rotates. Yes, that means the return of crying tiger, their version of the Thai staple that’s also known as tiger cry. Now Edgewater residents will also have easier access to those succulent pieces of grilled marinated beef, served with sticky rice and chili sauce.

Aroonrasameruang drew a following while working at TAC Quick Thai Kitchen before leaving that restaurant four years ago. Coincidentally, TAC Quick announced last week that they were moving from their North Lakeview space right across the street.
