Tour Terra & Vine, Bringing Alpana Singh’s Third Restaurant North to Evanston

And read the menus for the Sept. 29 opening

Former "Check, Please!" host Alpana Singh and team debut their third restaurant in just two days, bringing her wine acumen to another large and swanky space, only this time it’s north of the border in Evanston. Terra & Vine also debuts a new food focus for Singh and Co. — an Italian/Mediterranean concept highlighted by trendy wood-fired food — one that should appeal to a wide swath of eaters in the near north suburb and those catching a flick at the adjacent Century Theater.

Like The Boarding House and Seven Lions before it, Terra & Vine has a variety of areas inside the whitewashed, bright space. There’s a large 120-seat dining room, a full bar area, a 60-seat patio, four private dining rooms, and an open kitchen with a 12-foot grill where chef and Alinea Group vet Andrew Graves’ kitchen team will crank out grilled meats and fishes, pastas, pizzas, and bar appetizers. Interesting dishes on the opening menu include a pork osso bucco with peach mostarda and porcini jus, n’duja barley-stuffed calamari with accoutrements, and romanesco gratin with pomodoro and bone marrow.
