Themed dinners come and go, but the team at City Winery hope to cast a spell on diners when they serve a special four-course meal based on "Harry Potter." Each wine paired-course for "Expecto: A Harry Potter Wine Dinner" will represent one of the rival houses at The Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Chicagoist first noticed the hijinks.
The tickets, which cost $85, are not yet onsale to the general public. They’re only onsale to members of the City Winery’s loyalty club. A City Winery rep didn’t immediately confirm when those tickets would be available to the public. See below.
Nerd-themed dinners aren’t anything new in Chicago. Elizabeth has paid homage to "Game of Thrones" and "Lord of The Rings." Saved By The Max is taking it to the next level with their extended pop-up. And it’s not just restaurants. Over in suburban Oak Park, there’s a food truck called the Ministry of Sandwiches. Finally, who could forget the costumes from The Whistler’s "Star Wars"-themed night last year?
UPDATE: A City Winery rep said that the event is already sold out, but due to demand they're adding a second date on Oct. 25. Tickets for the date go onsale for VinoFile members at noon on Tuesday, Sept. 27. The general public can get their hands on tickets starting at noon on Thursday, Sept. 29.
