—The popular Mac & Cheese Fest, which drew more than 4,000 people in 2015, is returning for a third year in 2016. Tickets ($65 general admission; $105 VIP) go on sale today for two sessions on Nov. 5 at UIC Forum, where you can taste around 100 chefs' takes on the classic American comfort food in their quest for the "Golden Noodle" that was won by AMK Kitchen Bar and Auntie Vee’s last year. Click here for more info.

TAC Quick, the popular longtime Thai restaurant at 3930 N. Sheridan Road, will be located in a different space soon. DNAinfo reports that the acclaimed Thai spot in North Lakeview is heading to the former Fornello Trattoria space at 1011 W. Irving Park Road "in the coming weeks" to make way for a new transit-oriented development.

—Is Furious Spoon the "ramen mafia"? A new GoFundMe campaign thinks so — seemingly equating the burgeoning ramen chain with gentrification — and is attempting to raise a ridiculous $100 million in order to "crowd fund and buy whats always been the communities" [sic]. The kicker: the founder, David Beltran aka "Bae Cutler," is the street artist who masterminded the Derrick Rose vigil shrine, the "Recall Rahm Penpal Club," and the "Smoking Jay Cutler" mural. Check it out here.

—You’ll be able to taste Shake Shack bratwursts, soft pretzels, beer steins, and more Bavarian-inspired foods beginning Friday. The worldwide burger phenomenon will be unleashing those items, a brat burger (griddled Usinger's cheddar-stuffed bratwurst, crispy ShackMeister Ale-marinated shallots and ShackSauce) and more for Oktoberfest, available Sept. 23 through Oct. 2. Shake Shack currently has three locations in Chicagoland.
