Boar's Head Cafe Bringing Renowned Deli Foods to Chicago's Loop

Expect the opening in late September

Ashok Selvam

A new independently-owned cafe is bringing a barrage of some of America's most beloved deli meats and cheeses to a first-of-its-kind brick-and-mortar spot in Chicago. Two Chicagoans are opening Boar's Head Cafe at 210 W. Lake St. in the Loop, exclusively using the renowned cold cut meat, cheese, and condiment company's products and branding. Expect a late-September opening.

The small 3500 square-foot cafe will include a Boar's Head "custom sandwich bar" as well as La Colombe coffee and grab-and-go foods, according to a news release. Ownership promises an "expansive" menu, during lunch and breakfast hours, as well as catering.

Although Boar's Head Cafes or delis currently exist in five U.S. airports, including in Atlanta and Pittsburgh, the forthcoming Chicago location is unaffiliated with them.

Editor's note: This article has been edited to clarify that independent ownership is behind the Boar's Head Cafe in Chicago, and that the Boar's Head brand and other cafes are unaffiliated with it.
