RIVER NORTH—Bohemian House has filled the vacancy left by Eater chef of the year Jimmy Papadopoulos. Rob Sidor, a Wheaton native, is returning to Chicagoland to work as BoHo's executive chef. Sidor has spent time in the Philadelphia area working at Di Bruno Bros. and most recently as the executive chef at The Treemont. Chicago has some details on Sidor's new menu.
EVANSTON—Alpana Singh has brought on a noteworthy chef to be her chef de cuisine at her forthcoming third restaurant, Terra & Vine in Evanston. Singh has snagged former Franks 'N' Dawgs and The Peasantry chef — as well as Haute Sausage partner — Joe Doren to help helm her large Mediterranean/Italian project north of the border under executive chef Andrew Graves. Singh says the restaurant is on track for a September opening.
WICKER PARK—Americano 2211 has named Trevor Fleming as its new chef. He replaces Fred Noinaj, the Eater Young Guns semifinalist who departed earlier this year. Chicago has the details of Fleming's new menu and dinner service that leans heavily on Mediterranean food.
THE LOOP—Cherry Circle Room, Land & Sea Dept's gorgeous restaurant in the Chicago Athletic Association Hotel on Michigan Avenue, has a new chef de cuisine. Mike Kinasz, a former Blackbird sous chef in addition to experience at Sixteen, has been promoted from within.
THE LOOP—Boleo and Vol. 39 — the South American rooftop bar and restaurant coming to The Kimpton Gray Hotel on S. LaSalle Street in September, continues to compile a standout staff. Former Loews Hotel and Streeterville Social beverage director Lauren Parton has signed on as the bar manager and sommelier for the project following the announcements of Nick Sutton (executive chef), Alexis Hernandez (chef de cuisine) and Jess Lambert (head bartender). "As head bartender, Jess Lambert will direct carefully-tailored cocktail and spirits programs for both Boleo and Vol. 39, while Lauren Parton will serve as sommelier and evolve the wine programs for each concept moving forward," general manager Milos Davidovic says in a statement. Parton has previously worked at Drumbar and ran the beverage program at the W Hotel in the Financial District.
