Prepare yourself for Chicagoland's fourth Shack Attack. Danny Meyer and Co. are bringing their worldwide burger and shake phenomenon, Shake Shack, to Fulton Market next year, Chicago Real Estate Daily reports, on the heels of a late-June report that the New York chain is looking at sites downtown and in the suburbs for future expansion. Chicago-area Shake Shacks currently exist in River North, on the ground floor of the Chicago Athletic Association hotel across from Millennium Park, and in Skokie.
The new Fulton Market location is slated for a large new building at 185 N. Morgan St. next to the CTA Morgan and Lake stop that isn't yet under construction. It will compete with other burger stalwarts in the West Loop area, including Au Cheval, Grange Hall Burger Bar, and an Umami Burger on Randolph Street that should open soon. Expect Shake Shack to join the fray sometime in 2017.
