—"Top Chef" C.J. Jacobson's new restaurant Ema in River North has unveiled that lunch counter that was teased at opening, which serves rotisserie chicken, salads, hummus, and frozen Greek yogurt. The quick-serve concept, Rotisserie Ema, is open Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m.
—Brace yourself for a Hello Kitty food truck. The cafe truck, described as a "mobile vehicle of cuteness" in a news release, will serve cookies, macarons, and other sweets, as well as retail items, at Oak Brook Center on August 13 and 14.
—Acclaimed West Town restaurant Two has started serving brunch for the first time. Chef Kevin Cuddihee's menu includes potato pancake with duck confit and fried duck egg, as well as lobster toast on sourdough with a poached egg and lobster sauce. It's available on Sundays at 1132 W. Grand Ave.

—Longtime stalwart Ethiopian Diamond is hitting the 20-year mark in August and taking 20 percent off all diners' bills during the entire month at both locations, no strings attached. Also look for other special dishes, with proceeds heading to Kossoye Eco Lodge in Ethiopia, as well as live music and other events to celebrate.
—Kizuki Ramen & Izakaya is giving away free matcha ice cream this weekend and next for diners at the Wicker Park restaurant that have checked in on Facebook. The restaurant also serves draft sake now and has unveiled a new summer menu.
