Wondering why there's an absence of smoked meat aroma in Avondale, near California, Elston and Belmont? That's because earlier this month Pork Shoppe closed their original location after a six-year run. Their other location in Andersonville, which opened in May 2015, is unaffected and now the focal point of their pork kingdom.
With the loss of Pork Shoppe in Avondale and Dinosaur Bar-B-Que, Chicago seems less tender and less saucier than before. It's like the city is crying out for a Pork Knight to save it. Or perhaps Chicago has enough barbecue joints. What's the state of Chicago barbecue? Leave a comment and tell us.
