Earlier this year, reps from Rosebud Restaurants said they were prepping for changes, and now there’s a flurry of news from the Italian-American restaurant chain. Rosebud is in talks for a new restaurant inside the Residence Inn hotel at 201 E. Walton Place, as DNAinfo reports it could be called East Side TavernaRosebud applied for a zoning change with the side to allow the chain to open a restaurant inside the hotel.

There are also two other nuggets. A liquor license application shows Rosebud is taking over The Artist’s Cafe in the South Loop. The restaurant, which closed earlier this summer, has been renamed on the application to Rosebud’s Artist’s Cafe. A spokeswoman didn’t return comment when asked about the project.

The third bit of news is signage at Rosebud’s shuttered Joe Fish in River North. A paper sign has gone up on the door reading that Rosebud is hiring at that Dearborn location. Joe Fish closed in March. What the location will re-open as remains a mystery.

Rosebud has remained quiet since the Joe Fish shutter. If Rosebud brass shares more information, this post will be updated.

Help wanted sign at Joe Fish.
