The owners of fast-casual chain GRK Greek Kitchen will take over the former City Soles spot in the heart of Wicker Park with a new concept. DOX Quality Greek should open this fall at 1566 N. Damen Ave., according to a news release. Expect small plate street food (straight out of Athens) with carry out and late-night service, too.

The release described DOX a building upon the GRK concept. It's a 1,800-square-foot space designed by Greek architectural firm K-Studio (not to be confused with Studio K).

Diners will find ancient grains salads with house-made dressings, grilled Greek-style wings and special pitas made by an artisan baker. Sandwich fillings include braised lamb, grilled chicken and pork, as well as charred vegetables. They'll also have kebobs available a la carte. That may be of importance to Wicker Parkers who miss Skewers, the shuttered late-night restaurant that was located a few doors south. Also, look out for Greek-style doughnuts. That may give nearby Stan's Donuts some competition.
