Many Cubs seasons have ended like a horror story, but now fans at Wrigley Field have a chance to eat something straight out of "Frankenstein." Giordano's and Vienna Beef are collaborating on the Chicago-Style Hot Dog Deep Dish Pizza. The unholy matrimony of Chicago foodstuffs features Giordano's personal cheese deep dish pizza crust topped with chopped hot dogs and traditional Chicago-style hot dog toppings including tomatoes, onions, sport peppers and mustard.
There's no ketchup, but baseball fans will have to contend with tomato sauce. The pizza debuts on Friday and will only be available through Wednesday for $10 per pie. Last week, The Bakery at Fat Rice debuted a Chinese-style bao with hot dogs. So what's the next Chicago food mash up? Maybe shrimp de Jonghe and Malört?
This creation is in honor of National Hot Dog Month.
