It's the crustaceans, not the crusty gutter punks, which are the latest to invade Wicker Park as the second location of Angry Crab opened over the weekend. This one's bigger than its older sibling and retains much of the original's feel; patrons can still write graffiti on the walls. But given that this space is a new build out, the restaurant's surroundings feels fresher on Milwaukee Avenue.
Check out the tables, now branded with the Angry Crab logo. This restaurant is larger than the one on the North Side, so hopefully lines won't flow out of the door like they do during peak hours, especially on weekends along Lincoln Avenue. Eating at the Angry Crab is a bit of a messy endeavor, with the spicy sauces and all the shell-cracking action. So make use of the sink in the back of the restaurant to wash up. At least do that before rubbing your eyes.
