Milwaukee Avenue next week is going to get angrier and a bit crabbier in Wicker Park. No, it's not another altercation between a cyclist and car driver, it's news that Angry Crab will finally open their hotly-anticipated second location on Saturday, July 9. The bagged seafood sensation is bringing Wicker Park the same fare that they serve in West Rogers Park.
Back in March, Angry Crab owners said the Wicker Park restaurant, 1308 N. Milwaukee Ave., would be larger than the original at 120 seats. That's a relief to loyal customers who line up out the door up on Lincoln Avenue. Angry Crab's first location opened in March 2015. The Cajun/Asian seafood hybrid was popularized on California, but Angry Crab was one of the first —and most popular— in Chicago, inspiring a host of similar restaurants serving spicy seafood out of plastic bags. More to come.
