Though construction work in Skokie may not show it, the Chicago-area should get a taste of the Philippines as soon as next month. Jollibee is nearly ready to open its first Midwestern location, as over the weekend, corporate announced that the Skokie restaurant would open sometime in July at 3534 W. Touhy Ave.

The much-anticipated branch of Philippines' largest and most-popular fast-food restaurant was first announced last year. The company hasn't return requests for further information. Stay tuned, as Chicagoland can almost taste that Filipino spaghetti.
