West Loop Welcomes Federales' Tacos & Retractable Roof Today

There's also a fire pit for colder days

Four Corners Tavern Group opens their latest restaurant today, Federales, which may provide the West Loop with a hotspot similar to Big Star. Mixing tacos, booze and a large patio space, they've once again collaborated with Brendan Sodikoff's Hogsalt, as the Au Cheval group developed the nachos and other food that appears on the menu.

The bar and restaurant joins a variety of Mexican restaurants already existing in the West Loop/Fulton Market area. There's Leña Brava, De Cero, Cemitas Puebla and Perez Restaurant. Oh, and then there's the upcoming El Solazo.

If the skies hold up without rain, opening day today could be an ideal time to check out the patio. Then again, they've got a retractable roof. Be thankful it's not winter and they don't have to use the fire pit for warmth. Check out more photos of the restaurant below.

Federales, 180 N. Morgan St., (773) 831-9696, open Monday through Thursday 4 p.m. until 2 a.m., Friday and Sunday 11 a.m. until 2 a.m., and Saturday 11 a.m. until 3 a.m.
